Domestic incident. This can happen to anyone. The problem is not that he is a beaten and seriously injured director. The problem is that citizens who make remarks to protect their families are attacked. What kind of signal is this to everyone else? This is how GERB leader Boyko Borisov commented on the severe beating of the police chief of the Ministry of Interior's Ruse Regional Office, expressing concern about the aggression in society, quoted by Nova TV.
He called for more parental responsibility, referring to the children who climbed a 200-meter crane in Sofia: "Where is the child at 9 pm, at 10, at 11? In this case, it's 12 o'clock at night. The role is that of the parent. There's no way the state can put a policeman on every crane to prevent them from climbing it".
Borisov pointed out that young people draw a bad example from online content: "Open TikTok – "Velichye", MECH, "Vazrazhdane": "We crushed, beat, destroyed". This enters their minds. This is normal“.
Borisov also commented on President Rumen Radev's words about “disintegration of statehood”.
"After his four years in office – what is it? Let me answer him in the same spirit. For ten years, he single-handedly ruled the country half the time – without a parliament, with prime ministers appointed by him.
Borisov criticized the president for “for every single thing” declaring that the state had collapsed, instead of setting a personal example. “If the president goes around explaining how it collapsed for every single thing, what's left for the people? Instead of politicking, think about the example he sets".
The GERB leader stated that there should be a unified candidate of the democratic community for the upcoming presidential election next year:
„A unified center, right, socially acceptable candidate, supported by the center-right parties – a person who can attract 400-500 thousand votes from the periphery. With our power, we can elect him as president. Everything else is doomed to failure".
Bulgaria's European path
Borisov once again emphasized GERB's commitment to European integration:
„There is no bigger, more European, more democratic party than GERB. Every weekend, a senior EU leader comes, thanking us for Schengen, for the eurozone. And colleagues from the PP and DB are making last-ditch attempts to stop the eurozone, allying with "Vazrazhdane"
