The prosecutor's office has filed a measure of detention for the young man detained for the tram accident in Sofia. The prosecution is requesting permanent detention, Nova TV reports.
The hearing will begin at 2 p.m.
On September 2, a tram derailed and crashed into the underpass near the Romanian Embassy in Sofia. The vehicle was left unattended by the driver at around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the "Ul. Aleksandar Zhendov" stop. It dragged along the road for dozens of meters. No people were injured, but seven cars were hit. Two trains overturned, a pole was broken, as well as a staircase on an underpass.
A 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case.
