A technical collection of signatures is coming up and I expect that within a few hours today, the PP-DB will announce the vote of no confidence in the government. There should be a discussion next week, announced the former Minister of Justice and MP from the PP-DB Atanas Slavov in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.
He was categorical that the State Duma will not support the vote of no confidence in "Vazrazhdane" because:
"The water crisis is not solved with votes and not so much with legislative decisions as with operational actions. The State Duma will certainly not provide signatures, first of all, because they are "Vazrazhdane" and secondly, we need to discuss it purely politically".
He rejected the accusations that the PP-DB is delaying the vote:
"We are not delaying, we announced that we will submit it in September. The reasons have been prepared and are more than 70 pages - a seriously prepared vote. We expect a serious debate on the topics of "internal order", "internal security" and "justice", and the security services - counterintelligence and the SRC. And I hope for a serious political debate on these topics".
According to Slavov, the vote is well structured and is different from the political comments on the sidelines.
The vote of no confidence has arguments and specific cases of state capture, concealment of smuggling channels, manipulation of society, and others are cited.
"The vote unfolds the motives, beyond purely political theses. In the "Justice" sector, it is related to inaction - no reform has been made for more than a year and a half, given that the main recommendations in the EC's annual report are in this direction. The laws are ready and are not being introduced! Why?", he asked.
Slavov also commented on the blaming by the Supreme Judicial Council, especially by the prosecutor's office, for the changes.
"When the issue of investigating the "Eight Dwarfs" and the "Notary" was relevant, I held a discussion in the Supreme Judicial Council on the topic of the "Eight Dwarfs". The problem is that there are no results," he pointed out.
Slavov is categorical that the structural reform of the Judiciary and the Prosecutor's Office is time to return to the agenda of the National Assembly.
