For the period from January to May this year 344 buildings were put into operation in Kazakhstan – shopping centers, offices and others. This is twice as much as the same period last year and the highest indicator for the last 6 years, according to the country's Bureau of National Statistics.
The main growth is due to commercial buildings - 245 units, which is also twice as much as last year. The greatest contribution is made by specialized stores (68 objects, a 300% increase year-on-year) and supermarkets (45 objects, +165%).
The commissioning of buildings in the service sector has also increased significantly — by 86%, to 67 objects. The fastest growing areas are baths (21 units, +133%) and car washes (17 units, +89%).
In addition, 32 objects in the category “other commercial and service buildings“ were put into operation, including 14 shopping and entertainment centers — 367% more than in January-May 2024.
It is important to note that the statistics include not only new buildings, but also objects that have undergone reconstruction.
