Pleven District Court released Dimitar Dimitrov on bail of 8,000 euros, BNT reported.
"I regret what happened. I am very hurt. I did everything possible to avoid the impact", Dimitar Dimitrov said today.
On Wednesday morning, Dimitrov hit the car driven by anesthesiologist Tsvetan Kostadinov with a truck and killed the doctor.
The prosecutor's office insisted that Dimitrov remain in custody because he could go into hiding or commit a new crime. In the courtroom, the Pleven Deputy District Prosecutor argued that Dimitrov has currently been sanctioned 24 times for violations of the Road Traffic Act, with his last sanction being from this month. In addition, his license was taken away for alcohol use.
