A man was arrested for murdering another by inflicting stab wounds with a knife in the chest, groin and left leg. The tragedy took place in a garage in Kokalyane.
On 04.04.2026, the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (SGP) brought Y. G. as a defendant for intentionally killing V. G. on April 03, 2026 in the village of Kokalyane, in a garage designated for living, by inflicting stab wounds with a knife in the chest, groin and left leg (Art. 115 of the Criminal Code), the prosecutor's office announced.
By a ruling of 06.04.2026, the Sofia City Court (SCC) took a measure of detention in custody against the defendant.
The court shared the prosecutor's arguments that there was sufficient evidence that led to a conclusion of a reasonable assumption of the authorship of the crime for which the defendant was brought. The Sofia City Court accepted that there was a real danger of Y. G. committing a crime, therefore it determined that the most severe measure of detention against him was appropriate.
The decision of the Sofia City Court is not final and is subject to appeal before the Sofia Court of Appeal.
The investigation into the case continues by the SDVR under the leadership and supervision of the SGP.
