Eight people have been arrested and charged with participating in an organized crime group that robbed casinos by manipulating gaming machines vending machines. The group operated in the territories of Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Pleven, Smolyan and Sofia region. The fraudsters have been tracked for several months.
They have been charged with computer crimes and money laundering. The gang bribed croupiers, and the fraud itself took place in the casinos in real time through a ball device with a chip that stopped at a certain number, "Nova TV" specified.
„Arrests were carried out, searches were carried out and physical evidence was seized, which is important in the case”, said Georgi Boyukliev, head of the department of “Economic Police” to ODMVR-Plovdiv.
„ For the organizer, imprisonment from 5 to 15 years is foreseen, and for the members of the group imprisonment from 3 to 8 years”, said Dimitar Molev, prosecutor at the District Prosecutor's Office in Plovdiv.
