Smuggled gold jewelry worth over 60,000 leva was found in a woman's underwear at the Malko Tarnovo Customs checkpoint. The five packages, weighing a total of 532 grams, were found during an inspection of a Bulgarian-registered car arriving from Turkey. Four of them were hidden in the bra of a female passenger in the car, and the fifth - in the trouser pocket of a man traveling in the vehicle, the Customs Agency reports.
The car arrived in Malko Tarnovo at around 10 p.m. on January 6. The driver and all passengers in the car stated that they had nothing to declare. During the customs inspection, the jewelry items were found to be - bracelets, chains, rings and earrings. The woman subsequently confirmed that they were her property. According to the expert examination, the jewelry was made of 14-carat gold (585 sample) and had a total value of 60,308 leva.
The smuggled gold items were seized. An administrative offense was filed against the Bulgarian citizen with the initials S.M.
