Vasil Mihaylov's mother: I have no connection with my son - 1

The mother of the wanted Vasil Mihaylov - Bilyana Mihaylova, spoke publicly for the first time since the start of the search for her son. In a brief statement to NOVA, she stated that she currently has no connection with him.

"I'm sorry, but you have nothing to learn from me. I know as much as you do", Bilyana Mihaylova told journalists, refusing to comment in more detail on the situation with her son.

Vasil Mihaylov, known in the media as "the prosecutor's son", has been wanted since last Thursday after he failed to show up at the open prison dormitory where he was supposed to serve his sentence. The 21-year-old man was convicted of several cases of violence and hooliganism in Pernik.

Bilyana Mihaylova's statement sheds light on the complex family relationships in the Mihaylov family. In 2023, the court acquitted her ex-husband - prosecutor Biser Mihaylov, after numerous reports of domestic violence.

According to court documents, the couple's daughter has repeatedly filed reports against her father, claiming that he was violent towards her mother. One of the reports claims that Bilyana Mihaylova was unconscious, that the man was holding a knife, and that the room was covered in blood.

However, the court did not find evidence of violence by Biser Mihaylov. On the contrary, there was evidence that he was more likely a victim of aggression by his wife. Neither the police officers who responded to the call nor the doctor who examined Bilyana Mihaylova found traces of blood or visible injuries.

Vasil Mihaylov has become a symbol of the fight against privileges in the judicial system. His case has caused widespread public resonance due to suspicions that family ties with the prosecutor's office influenced the trial.

In early June, he was supposed to begin serving his sentence in an open-type prison dormitory, but he has not shown up. Since then, the police have been searching for him throughout the country.

A few days ago, a video appeared on the Internet in which Vasil Mihaylov himself claims that he is the subject of a biased investigation by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor's office.
