Locals attacked and beat passers-by in the center of Sofia - 1

Again aggression in the center of Sofia. Footage distributed on social networks shows a group of youths beating citizens. The fight was filmed by random passers-by. The action takes place on July 4th in the wee hours of the night. Around 4 a.m. on Blvd. “Graf Ignatiev“ A group of teenagers, apparently aged between 15-17, masked with T-shirts over their heads, attacked citizens, bTV reported.

According to witnesses, the aggression was not provoked by anything.

The footage shows the youths knocking a man to the ground and starting to kick and punch him, then running away.

They find another victim nearby - a man who is standing in front of a liquor and cigarette shop. They beat him up.

At this point, it is known that the video was filmed on Thursday at around 3:30 a.m. in the morning. An interesting fact is that no report has been filed with the Ministry of Interior. Neither the victims nor the witnesses who filmed the video. The SDVR reported that they had reported the incident themselves and the attackers have already been identified.

„We have traced their routes and an arrest is pending. Yes, the individuals are minors. I cannot say that they fit the profile of the locales 100%.... We cannot attribute all child crime to the so-called “locales“. We have identified three individuals who are very clearly visible on the cameras during the day and their detention is imminent“, said Senior Commissioner Lyubomir Nikolov – Director of the Internal Affairs Directorate.

“It is not becoming a pandemic, how long have you not heard about the locales in question. But the Internal Affairs Directorate has removed over 4,000 people from anonymity precisely along this line in the last month, month and a half. The gangs and gangs in question have disappeared. There are some situations, but we will deal with them too“, said Interior Minister Daniel Mitov.

These comments were made today during the celebration of 146 years since the founding of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It was also attended by the Speaker of the Parliament Natalia Kiselova and Deputy Prime Minister Iliana Yotova. They commented on the third vote of no confidence. According to Yotova, yesterday showed that “there will be a government until Mr. Peevski says“. And the Speaker of the Parliament stated that each parliamentary group decides what procedures to use to support or sabotage the work of the parliament. And that as long as “most groups support the government, the parliament will work“.
