The Sofia District Court has determined the measures for the three young men detained for beating passers-by in the center of Sofia. The magistrates imposed the measure "supervision of an inspector from the Children's Pedagogical Section" on the two minors, and the adult - "subscription", Nova TV reports.
On July 5, three people were detained for attacking citizens on the capital's Slaveykov Square. They are 15, 16 and 18 years old. The Prosecutor's Office defines their actions as being carried out with extreme audacity and cynicism.
This happened after footage appeared on the Internet showing a group of young people attacking random citizens in the center of the capital in the wee hours of the night.
A check of the police records showed that the adult youth had been detained in the past for thefts, and a report had been filed against the 16-year-old for assaulting foreign citizens. Work continues to clarify all circumstances related to the hooligan behavior of the three, as well as to identify the injured people, the police added.
The parents of the minors were notified and reported to the SDVR. The charges are for hooliganism, which is distinguished by particular audacity and cynicism. The punishment that can be imposed on minors is up to 2 years of imprisonment. An adult is threatened with up to 5 years in prison.
Minister Daniel Mitov pointed out that over 4,000 people have been removed from anonymity by the groups in the locales in the last 1 month. He added that the gangs are gradually disappearing, they have episodic manifestations, but the police are dealing with them.
