The Sofia District Court will sit today in the case of actor Dimo Aleksiev, BNT reported.
The last hearing, in mid-June, was postponed after the court granted the actor's defense's request for a technical examination of the recordings from the police officers' body cameras. According to Aleksiev's lawyers, there are suspicions of manipulation.
The court ordered an expert to compare the recordings attached to the case and the original files stored on a Ministry of Interior server. The aim is to establish the authenticity of the evidence and whether any changes were made before or after its presentation.
The actor and TV presenter was caught driving while intoxicated in November last year. The breathalyzer on the spot recorded 1.49 per mille. A little later, the results of his blood sample also showed the presence of alcohol in his body. At that time, Dimo Aleksiev was detained for a period of up to 72 hours, and his car was seized.
In January, the actor was released from custody, as the two-month period in which he could be detained expired in the middle of the month. At that time, a bail of 2,000 leva was imposed on him.
