21-year-old Viktor Iliev, who in the early hours of last Friday caused a brutal accident in which a respected Syrian doctor died, has already been taken into custody on Blvd. "G. M. Dimitrov", "24 Chasa" learned.
So far, he was in hospital, as he also suffered in the road tragedy caused by himself. As a result of the incident, he had a broken arm and rib injuries.
On Sunday, the Sofia City Court left him behind bars, but the young man was returned to the Military Medical Academy for further treatment. The decision is not final. There is also a case to determine his detention measure before the Court of Appeal in case he appeals.
Five more people were injured in the accident, and the condition of the bus driver remains serious.
During the case in the Sofia City Court, it became clear that he has 14 traffic violations, has only had a license since August 1, and that he accumulated more than half of the tickets before receiving it.
