A bail of 6,000 leva was set by the Veliko Tarnovo District Court for the customs inspector accused of requesting and accepting a bribe of 700 leva. The judicial institution recalls that the indictment is from the Veliko Tarnovo District Prosecutor's Office.
The Gorna Oryahovitsa resident is being brought as a defendant for the fact that in the period from July 11 to August 20 in the railway town, in the capacity of an official – senior inspector in the Territorial Directorate of the "Customs" Agency with a place of work TD Customs Ruse, Customs checkpoint Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport, in the conditions of a continuing crime, he requested and accepted a gift that was not due to him – a sum of money in the total amount of 700 leva, to perform an official act – to prepare protocols for customs inspection of road vehicles (a light truck "Volkswagen Transporter" and a caravan "Biolset" with a trailer "Treadal", imported from the Kingdom of Norway.
The money was requested from him in order to issue a document for customs clearance of imported road vehicles at a lower customs value.
By a decree of the District Prosecutor's Office-Veliko Tarnovo, the accused was detained for a period of up to 72 hours, in order to ensure his appearance before the District Court - Veliko Tarnovo for consideration of the request for the most severe measure of detention.
The ruling is subject to appeal and protest before the Veliko Tarnovo Court of Appeal.
