A cryptocurrency farm was discovered in the municipality building in Gorna Oryahovitsa, BNT reports. Administration employees came across an installation of cryptocurrency mining computers located in the basement of the building. Mayor Nikolay Rashkov immediately alerted the police. The municipality confirmed the case.
Forensic investigators entered the premises, and under the supervision of the Veliko Tarnovo District Prosecutor's Office, an investigation has been launched to determine who was behind the illegal activity. One of the versions is that the cryptocurrency farm has been operating for more than 8 years, drawing electricity from the municipality throughout the entire time. According to unofficial information, former mayor Dobromir Dobrev was also questioned last night. He explained that he did not visit the premises and had no connection to the crypto farm.
