Actor Danny Trejo turned 80 on May 16.
He is one of the most beloved stars of Mexican descent in Hollywood.
He was born in 1944 in Los Angeles out of wedlock. His mother worked in construction and his father was drafted and fighting in World War II when Danny appeared.
His difficult childhood led to addictions - Trejo started using marijuana, cocaine and heroin before he was 12.
It also becomes part of the criminal world.
In the 1960s, he repeatedly ended up in juvenile prisons, where he also met the serial killer Charles Manson.
In 1969, he was released from prison for the last time, having served 5 years of a 10-year sentence.
In the 70s of the 20th century, Danny began to search for himself and experimented with all kinds of professions: gardener, merchant, builder.
It was in the 80s that his career in cinema began.
Among the most famous films with him are the tapes of Robert Rodriguez "Desperado" and "El Marici", as well as the vampire action "From Dusk Till Dawn".
Today, Trejo is proud of one of his great victories in life - over addictions.
