Thousands of Plovdiv residents and guests of the city welcomed the leader of the Bulgarian variety show Lily on their feet and with applause Ivanova at the Ancient Theater last night, BTA reported.
The singer's concert, which is part of her national tour, was attended by great interest. The seats turned out to be insufficient to accommodate all her admirers, so standing room tickets were also sold on the spot.
Together with Lili Ivanova, her musicians and three backing vocalists were on stage. As soon as they heard the first songs from her repertoire, the visitors started chanting "Lili", to which she responded with the words "Plovdiv is Plovdiv". In the pause between the hits, the singer told from the stage her personal story related to Plovdiv and the famous artist Zlatyu Boyadzhiev.
"Zlatyu Boyadzhiev was born in your city. My first concerts were in the old Summer Theater in Plovdiv. After the concert, I was told that someone had been waiting for me outside the dressing room for two or three hours. It was Zlatyu who told me he wanted to draw me. I am proud that it was an artist from Plovdiv who wanted to paint me. I have this portrait in my home," the singer said.
At the concert, the audience heard some of Lili Ivanova's most popular and favorite songs, such as "Nenuzhen Memenen", "Pokrusa", "Stormy River", "Detelini", "Cricket" and many others, and each performance was followed by a standing ovation. The audience called the singer for an encore, and in response she performed for them "Winds" and "Camino".
This is the tenth concert of the singer's tour, which will continue on the following dates: September 14 - Stara Zagora, Summer Theater, September 16 - Pleven, Summer Theater, October 12 - Smolyan, RDT "Nikolay Haitov", October 13 - Kardzhali, TMC Kardzhali, October 15 – Pazardzhik, "Vasil Levski" Sports Hall, October 18 - Vratsa, DCT - Vratsa, October 19 - Pernik, "Boris Guderov" Hall, November 14 - Panagyurishte, Memorial Theater, November 18 - Kyustendil, Municipal Theater - Kyustendil , November 20 - Sandanski, House of Culture.
The culmination of the tour will be on December 14 at the "Arena Sofia", where Lili Ivanova will sing for the third time since 2012 and for the second time in the last 24 months.
