The 42nd edition of the "Golden Rose" Bulgarian Feature Film Festival was opened. in Varna, BNT reported.
This year's competition program includes 36 films and 5 series.
Over 20 tapes will be presented in the out-of-competition section - “Open Horizons”. The face of this year's edition is the legend of Bulgarian cinema, Tsvetana Maneva, and the writer Zahari Karabashliev is the chairman of the jury.
"The program includes more than 60 titles, they are distributed in different categories, 16 full-length films and 20 short films are in competition programs. We have many accompanying programs, dozens of debuts in both feature and short films," said Petar Todorov – director of the National Film Center.
"This year festival “Golden Rose” addresses much more to the city of Varna and, above all, to the young audience. That is, we extend it not only to the film community, but also to the entire city, which we have the honor of hosting for the 42nd year in a row," said Stefan Prokhorov, coordinator.
