Part of the main museums in the capital will participate in the European Heritage Days initiative on Sunday, and their entrance will be free for visitors, dariknews.bg reported.

The National Polytechnic Museum is included in the initiative, and in addition to the permanent exhibitions, guests will have the opportunity to view the photo exhibition “Sofia, captured in time” – photographic walk around the emblematic buildings of the capital.

The National Literary Museum also has free entry, as do the Ivan Vazov and P. K. Yavorov“ and “Nikola Y. Vaptsarov”. In the house museum “Nikola Y. Vaptsarov“ visitors will be able to view the exhibition “Beyond the barrier”, which marks the 110th anniversary of the birth of Pavel Vezhinov.

The “Land and People“ Museum will work with museum tickets at preferential prices. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, it will be possible to visit the temporary exhibitions "New arrivals 2024", "The green tale of the stone", "In the wonderful world of concretions". – collection of Vanyusha Ivanov and “Smart minerals for smart phones“.

The National Natural History Museum at the BAS will have free admission for children up to 14 years old on September 21 and 22. Visitors will be able to view the permanent exhibition and the two temporary exhibitions “Modern challenges facing Bulgarian biospeleology“ and Denitsa Peneva's solo exhibition “Illustratorium II“.

On Sunday, on the occasion of Bulgaria's Independence Day and the European Heritage Days, the National Archaeological Museum will also be open for citizens. Visitors will also be able to view a temporary exhibition “Lords of Salt: Provadia-Solnitsa 5600– 4350 BC.“. It presents over 530 findings discovered during the research of the malting and urban center Provadia-Solnitsa. The exhibits date from late prehistory (VI and V millennia BC), and objects from the late Hellenistic period and Antiquity are also presented.

European Heritage Days have been held since 1985. According to the European Cultural Convention, signed by 50 countries, the initiative unites cultural institutions in the EU, and it involves more than 20 million European citizens.
