Comedy "Features of the national hospital" about the adventures of a young foreigner in a ward of a hospital in St. Petersburg, filmed according to the latest screenplay by Alexander Rogozhkin, is released in Russia. This was reported to TASS by the press office of the "ROC" film studio.
"The new film continues the tradition of hits such as "Features of the National Hunt" and “Features of national fishing“ and at the same time reflects the author's view of the young director of the film Stanislav Svetlov on everyone's favorite plot“, the press service notes.
The comedy was already shown at the international festival "Window to Europe", where it received a prize. According to the plot, a young German, Werner Müller, happens to be a volunteer in the neurological department of a hospital in St. Petersburg. In his quest to help all the sick and needy, he gets into comical situations and gets to know the peculiarities of the Russian mentality.
The director stated that the filmmakers tried to keep the spirit of Rogozhkin in the film. “It is a great honor and responsibility to work on a film based on the script of Alexander Rogozhkin, a director whose films I have watched since I was a child, whose stories and characters have entered our culture and are widely quoted. We tried to keep the spirit of Rogozhkin in the film and at the same time to do it in our own way, adapting to our time and our realities. An important task was to show that friendly and respectful relations between people do not depend on their nationality, says the director.
Carl Philip Benzchavel, Victoria Isakova, Maria Lukyanova, Alexey Rozin, Arkadiy Ukupnik take part in the film. In the main role - the foreigner Werner - is the German actor Karl Philipp Benzschavel. He said that he was immediately inspired by the idea of participating in the project, including because he had heard a lot about the beauty of St. Petersburg. “It was so exciting to go to a country whose language I don't speak. This is my first lead role. It's a great experience to play with such wonderful actors and to be a part of this great team”, admitted the actor.
Isakova called the tape a phantasmagoric story. “My role is at the intersection of reality and madness. "It was a great pleasure for me to embody this image on the screen," said the actress. Ukupnik admitted that for a long time in his life there were no adventures like shooting in this film. "It was like a breath of fresh air. The film featured many young people, energetic, talented and cheerful, who made me feel ten years younger. And it is doubly pleasant that our young director Stanislav Svetlov was not afraid of such a complex scenario, said the actor.
The production of the film was carried out by the film studio "ROCK". Alexey Uchitel with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and online cinema Wink.ru. The film was widely distributed by NMG Kinoprokat (part of the National Media Group holding).
