The name of the Crown Princess of Norway - Crown Princess Mette-Marit, is mentioned more than 1,000 times in documents related to the case of American financier Jeffrey Epstein, the newspaper VG reported, citing the materials.
According to the newspaper, new documents published by the US Department of Justice on January 30 contain details about the relationship between the crown princess and the financier. Specifically, in the leaked emails, Mette-Marit and Epstein discuss meetings and exchange holiday greetings. The crown princess previously explained that she met with the financier several times between 2011 and 2013, VG reports.
Epstein was arrested by New York state law enforcement on July 6, 2019. Prosecutors said they had evidence that between 2002 and 2005, he arranged visits to his Manhattan home for dozens of underage girls, the youngest of whom was 14 years old. Epstein's circle of friends and acquaintances included numerous current and retired officials not only from the United States but also from many other countries (including former heads of state), prominent business leaders, and celebrities from show business.
The criminal prosecution of the financier in the United States was discontinued after his suicide in his prison cell in August 2019. Epstein's acquaintances included the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and the current Prime Minister of the United States, Donald Trump.
