"These are the Heracleums. They were imported into Bulgaria, i.e. these are invasive species.
"Heracleums are extremely dangerous because they have a juice that gets on the skin, makes it highly photosensitive, and with the slightest sunlight, severe burns and blisters occur. In contact with the eyes, the juice can blind a person. It is extremely contraindicated to touch them with bare hands. When removing them, special suits, masks, gloves and glasses must be used. If the juice accidentally gets on the skin, it must be covered and the fastest way is to wash it with cold water. If there are complications, seek medical help.
"In Bulgaria, species have been established in entire meadows in the region around Sofia and the Rhodopes (approx. Dospat, ). The giant devisil can reach up to 4 meters.
Be very careful with these new invaders in our country," warns the scientist.
