The seismic activity registered six kilometers from the stadium “Letzigrund“ (Letzigrund Stadium) in Zurich, was challenged by Taylor Swift's fans during her first concert in Switzerland, reported the edition “Swissinfo”, reported BTA.
The Swiss Seismological Service specified that eight seismometers registered tremors at a distance of up to six kilometers. 50,000 people attended the stadium in Zurich.
„When many people move together rhythmically, this energy is transmitted as harmonic vibrations in the ground and can be detected by nearby seismometers," explained the Seismological Service.
The highest values were recorded shortly after 7:00 p.m., when Taylor Swift took the stage. Her fans greeted her enthusiastically with jumping and dancing. Similar seismic activity has been reported during previous concerts of the pop star.
According to data from the Swiss Seismological Service, similar phenomena have been observed during performances of other groups and football matches. “From the data we have, it is not possible to definitively determine whether Taylor Swift causes more or less seismic tremors compared to other groups or football matches that also lead to measurable disturbances,”, the Seismological Service specified.
Swift is on her Eras World Tour in Europe. On July 17, she will start a series of concerts in Germany.
