Russian pranksters translated the film „Rust“, during the filming of which a camerawoman died, and the star Alec Baldwin was a defendant„ as..."Accidental shot“.
During the creation of the film in 2021, Alec Baldwin accidentally fired a gun, sure that it was loaded with blank cartridges, and the bullet killed the camerawoman Halina Hutchins.
The case lasted several years and Baldwin was eventually acquitted in July 2024, after the charges against him were dropped.
Hanna Gutierrez-Reid — the western's gunfighter — was released from prison on Friday, May 23, after serving an 18-month sentence for involuntary manslaughter. Gutierrez-Reid, 27, was convicted in March 2024 of Hutchins' death.
The gunfighter was acquitted of a separate charge of tampering with evidence, but the court imposed the maximum sentence for her primary offense — her responsibility for providing a loaded prop revolver that was eventually used by Baldwin in the fatal incident.
