Spanish media: We crushed weaklings in a football fiesta - 1

The Spanish sports media defined last night's 4:0 victory of Spain over Bulgaria in the world qualifiers as a real "fiesta", Topsport reported.

The publications in Madrid emphasize the categorical superiority of the Iberians and define the Bulgarian team as a "weak opponent", which could hardly have opposed the hosts.

"Another national fiesta of Spain, which is for the Guinness records", wrote the newspaper Marca. ABC adds:

"Spain swept Bulgaria with two goals from Merino and almost secured a place in the World Cup, equaling their unbeaten record".

El Pais emphasized:

"Luis de la Fuente's team crushed their weak opponent, who could only try to resist the avalanche", while AS emphasized the festive atmosphere:

"It was a good night, and the fans in Valladolid wanted goals - Spain gave them them".

Spain is now on a 29-match unbeaten run - equaling a national record from 2010-2013. Mikel Merino scored twice, while an own goal by Atanas Chernev and a penalty by Mikel Oyarzabal shaped the final score for "Jose Soria".

El Mundo described the victory as "a beautiful dance by Pedri", while the regional Norte de Castilla summarized:

"Pedri led the team, and Merino scored in a match for Spain's records".
