Yanick Sinner defeated Carlos Alcaraz 6:2, 6:4 and won the title at the "Six Kings" men's exhibition tennis tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Italian, number 2 in the world rankings, will receive 6 million US dollars for his success, and the others - 1.5 million each, BTA reported.
Sinner and Alcaraz shared the Grand Slam titles equally last tennis season, but on Saturday night the Italian completely dominated. He broke the serve of the world ranking leader at the start and from that moment was flawless until the final 6:2, 6:4.
Sinner is the winner of Saudi Arabia for the second year in a row, after beating Alcaraz 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-3 in 2024.
"I wish I could play like that everywhere. I've played Carlos a lot this season and lost a lot of matches. It's an honor to be on the court with him, and tennis needs rivalries like ours. But he's also a very good friend of mine," said Sinner after the match.
The tournament featured the top six tennis players from the start of the season, with the finalists including Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Fritz finished third after Djokovic withdrew earlier in the day.
