Vladimir Zografski performed excellently in the competition on the large hill in Ruka of the Ski Jumping World Cup. The Bulgarian took a record fourth place, BTA reports. The competition was stopped at the beginning of the second round due to strong winds in Finland, and the results of the first round were recognized as official. In it, the Bulgarian recorded an attempt of 131 meters, which earned him 125.4 points.

Only two representatives of Slovenia and one of Japan finished ahead of Zografski. The winner with 141 points after a jump of 142 meters was Anže Lanisek. Second behind the Slovenian is the Japanese Ren Nikaido with 136.4 points and an attempt of 141 meters, and third is Domen Prevc with 128 points. The Slovenian made an attempt of 132.5 meters.

The wind in Ruka led to serious surprises and the Frenchman Valentin Foubert remained fifth with 122.7 points. Also fifth with 122.7 points was the Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi with 122.7 points.

So far, Zografski's best ranking in a World Cup start was again in Ruka. In 2018, he took sixth place on the same hill. In addition, for the Samokov athlete, this is the second top 10 ranking this season after the ninth position on the small hill in Falun, Sweden.

In the World Cup standings, the Bulgarian climbed to 11th place with 115 points. The leader with 356 points is Lanishek, ahead of Domen Prevc with 270 and Ryoyu Kobayashi with 266.
