Manchester United's financial situation is clearly improving, according to the published results for the period July-September, Topsport reported.
The "Red Devils" revenue amounted to 140.3 million pounds, which is a slight decrease compared to last year (143.1 million), but the club nevertheless closed the quarter in the red. The reason - a sharp reduction in expenses due to a stricter financial policy and parting with some of the most expensively paid players.
Thus, United reported a profit of 13 million pounds, while in the same period a year earlier a loss of 7 million was recorded.
"These stable results show the resilience of Manchester United at a time when we are making significant steps in the transformation of the club. "The difficult decisions we have made have resulted in a lower cost base and a more efficient organisation that is poised to deliver better sporting and commercial results in the long term," chief executive Omar Berada told the BBC.
