Bilyana Dudova won the second Olympic quota for the Bulgarian national wrestling team after winning 3:0 against the Frenchwoman Ameline Duarte at the qualification tournament in Baku. Before her, Semyon Novikov also took a quota, who reached third place at the world championships in the fall, BTA reports.
Dudova recorded the first points a minute and 20 seconds after the start by knocking down her French rival. Duare responded with an ankle grab, which she failed to convert into points, and so the Bulgarian national retired at the break with a 2:0 lead. The second half started more passively and Duare was warned for activity. She responded with another hold on Dudova's leg, but again failed to make a point move and the Bulgarian got another one. In the remaining 60 seconds, the world and four-time European champion kept her lead and sealed her quota for Paris.
Dudova did not lose a point at the tournament in Baku, having earlier defeated one of her main quota rivals Johanna Lindborg 9:0.
Miglena Selishka (50 kg), Irena Binkova (53), Evelina Nikolova (57), Mimi Hristova (68) and Vanessa Georgieva (76) failed to reach the semi-finals. They will be looking for a place at the Olympic Games in the final qualification in Istanbul in May.
