Real Madrid goalkeeper - Andrii Lunin proved to be the big hero for his team in the penalty shootout win against Manchester City. The Ukrainian guard saved 11-meter shots from Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic, explaining after the match why he stayed in the middle during the performance of the Portuguese.
"I was exhausted. This is my first 120-minute match at this level. I had prepared for all the players' penalties. There were three that I had doubts about whether to stay in the middle or not and in the end I only chose one because you can't stay still for all five shots. I chose Bernardo's and it turned out well luckily," said Lunin, quoted by Topsport.
"There are matches in which we have to suffer, but we have to overcome them. We can't always play with the ball and be the best team on the field. It was a great experience for me. The team was really suffering a lot. I can't run like that for five minutes, and they ran for 120 minutes," added the Ukrainian goalkeeper of Real (Madrid).
