Bulgaria's national team for "Billie Jean King Cup" Lia Karatancheva qualified for the doubles final of the tennis tournament on red courts in Santa Margherita di Pula (Italy) with a prize fund of 25 thousand dollars, BTA reported.
The Bulgarian and Eleni Hristofi (Greece), who are leaders in the scheme, started directly from the quarterfinals. The two won first over the representatives of the hosts Beatrice Ricci and Denise Valente 6:3, 6:2 in 68 minutes.
After that, Karatancheva and Hristofi won in the semifinals without a game after their opponents Enola Chiesa (Italy) and Patrizia Maria Tig (Romania) refused.
