The coach of the German national team in football Julian Nagelsmann, who has been in office since the end of September, has extended his contract until the end of the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada in 2026, the German Football Federation announced on Friday, BTA reported.
The young specialist was surprisingly removed from Bayern Munich in March 2023, taking over the country's national team half a year later. Initially, his contract was until the end of the European Championship in Germany this summer.
The federation offered him to remain at the helm of the Bundesliga after the prestigious victories in the controls against France and the Netherlands last month. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have been in talks with Julian Nagelsmann to take over the Bavarians again since the summer - 15 months after he was sacked - but the coach is understood to have harbored a bad impression of some of the management at Germany's most successful club.
The coach's agent admitted yesterday that negotiations are underway not only with Bayern Munich, but apparently Nagelsmann himself wants to remain in charge of Germany.
