Inter (Milan) is the new football king of the Italian championship after five rounds before the end, coach Simone Inzaghi's team beat city rival Milan 2:1 and collected 86 points, BNR reported.
Milan remains in 2nd place with 69 or 17 points behind, which cannot be overcome in the remaining matches.
Inter wins the "scudetto" for the 20th time, moving ahead of the city rival by one title. At the top with 36 championship titles is Juventus. With the title, Inter will add two golden stars to their emblem, which symbolize the 20 titles. So far, Inter have only lost once all season. The new champions have topped the table for almost the entire season, dropping to second only once after a 2-2 draw with Bologna in the 8th round. They will fall short of the all-time Serie A record of 102 points set by Antonio Conte's Juventus, but it has also been a remarkable campaign with 27 wins, five draws and just one loss so far.
This is the first "Scude" for Simone Inzaghi in his coaching career, having previously won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italia with Inter and Lazio.
