Grigor Dimitrov was eliminated at the start of the tournament on clay in Madrid from the "Masters" series with a prize fund of 7,877,020 euros after losing to the Czech Jakub Menšík 2:6, 7:6 (4), 3:6 in 2 hours and 33 minutes of play, BNR reported.
This was the first match between the best Bulgarian and the 18-year-old Czech, and it was Menšík's second victory over a Top 10 player.
Czech Jakub Menšík's opponent in the third round will be Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, who easily prevailed over Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, ranked number 19 in the tournament, 6:0, 6:4.
