Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov drops out of F3 sprint race points contact with Santiago Ramos on third lap tour ordered Tsolov to record a good result, reports BTA.
The Bulgarian started 11th and maintained his position in the first corners, where he overtook Oliver Goethe, but was overtaken by teammate Laurens van Hoppen.
Midway through the second lap, the race was neutralized by a virtual safety car, which was needed for the marshals to remove the damaged car of Matthias Sagasetta.
At the start of the third lap, Nicola misjudged the move of Ramos in front of him in the second turn and crashed into the Mexican driver. This contact broke the Bulgarian's front wing and he had to visit the ART mechanics to have it replaced. He was later penalized 10 seconds after the stewards judged that he was fully at fault for the contact with Ramos.
However, Tsolov was able to finish and serve his sanction, which means that he will not lose positions on the starting grid for tomorrow's main race at the “Hungaroring”, in which he is due to start from the front row.
Today's victory was won by Russian driver Nikita Bedrin, competing with an Italian license, who achieved his first victory in Formula 3.
