Ludogorets defeated CSKA 1:0 in a meeting of the first round of the football elite in Bulgaria. The only goal in the match came in the 54th minute, when the national player Hristiyan Petrov scored an own goal. In the first half of the match, Tobias Heinz missed a penalty for the “armies”, BTA reports.
The chief referee of the match, Nikola Popov, was awarded just before the start. The experienced referee received an order for his match number 250 in the native elite.
CSKA started the match confidently and created a good opportunity in the 4th minute, but Hristiyan Petrov's shot was saved by Sergio Padt. Immediately after that, Jonathan Lindseth and Petko Panayotov also failed to take advantage of the good opportunities that opened up in front of them.
After only 10 minutes of playing “armies“ created another situation in the hosts' field, but Ullaus Skarshem's shot was inaccurate.
In the 17th minute, Tomislav Stipić's players once again outplayed the opponent, but Georgi Chorbadzhiyski's shot fell into the hands of Padt.
Gradually the tempo of the game dropped and the action took place mostly in the center of the pitch.
CSKA took advantage of Ludogorets' disorganized defensive play and Jonathan Lindseth broke through on his own against Padt, but Olivier Verdon fouled him in the back. Initially, the judge Nikola Popov did not award a foul, but after consultation with the VAR, he awarded a penalty kick. Tobias Heinz got behind the ball and his shot into the middle of the goal was kicked out by Padt.
In stoppage time of the first half, Heinz was brought alone against Padt, but his attempt to pass the guard was unsuccessful.
After the game resumed, Ludogorets started actively. In the 51st minute, a breakthrough by Bernard Tekpetei went wide of the goal guarded by Ivan Dyulgerov.
Two minutes later, Ludogorets opened the scoring. Von Vitri's shot cross was deflected by Hristiyan Petrov and the ball was unsalvageable for Dylgerov – 1:0.
CSKA captain Jonathan Lindseth suffered an injury in the 64th minute and was forced to be replaced by Stanislav Shopov.
In the 74th minute, Ludogorets wasted an excellent opportunity for a second goal. Rick Jonathan brought Ruan Seko alone against Dulgerov, but the goalkeeper masterfully shut down the striker. Shortly after, Seko headed dangerously, but over the goal.
In the 79th minute of the game for CSKA, Julian Iliev appeared in place of Scarshem. For the young midfielder, it was a debut for the "Reds" men's team.
Toward the end of the match, the guests made a timid attempt to equalize the score, which ended without success.
