Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic is not thinking about ending of his sports career. This is what the 38-year-old Djokovic told the media before the start of the Olympic Games in Paris, BTA reported.

The Games in Paris will be the last tournament for the 37-year-old British tennis player Andy Murray, who will play only in doubles. Another former world No. 1, Rafael Nadal, 38, is also close to retirement.

"I am still not close to the end of my career, although maybe many people would like me to retire from tennis. So as long as one of us continues to play, our era continues," said the Serbian.

"Of course, now there is a generational change, Carlos Alcaraz and Yannick Siner are two of the strongest players in the world and they are very young, so they will be at the top for a long time in the future. But still, it's great that me and Nadal are still able to perform at a high level. Of course, the end of my career is closer than the beginning, but I still like to compete," added the Serbian, who is currently second in the world rankings.

Djokovic, who has held bronze since 2008 and is playing for his only missing major tennis title, will open against Australia's Matthew Ebden at the Paris Games. With a win, the number 1 ranked Serbian can face Nadal, who will play against the Hungarian Marton Fucovic. The Spaniard won gold medals in singles at Beijing 2008 and men's doubles at Rio 2016 in tandem with Mark Lopez.
