The home team from Buduchnost made a new joke with football, and UEFA quietly approved it, it became clear after the development of the saga where today's rematch of the second preliminary round of the Conference League between the Montenegrins and CSKA 1948 will be held, reported sportal.bg.
Two days ago it was revealed that the pitch where the match was to be played did not meet UEFA requirements as the grass was in a very poor condition. For this reason, the European headquarters moved it 13 kilometers from “Pod Gorizom”, where the “DG Arena” - a small stadium with 1300 licensed seats.
Supposedly it was for the good of football, but not quite. Sportal.bg decided to do an inspection, which showed that the grass cover of the new facility is no better than that of the old one. There are areas of it where the grass is missing, and weeds are visible in others.
What's more, the “DG Arena” a match from the European tournaments was played yesterday as well. The rules state that no two matches from Europe can take place on the same ground within less than 48 hours. The home team also broke a bunch of other football laws, one of which states that they are obliged to provide a training session for the guest on the pitch that will also host the official meeting.
This did not happen and the “reds” held their practice last night at the sports base where the national team of Montenegro is preparing. And there the grass cover is not in a flowering state, but it is much better than those of “Under the grove” and “DG Arena”.
On Tuesday, the rematch from the Conference League between Decic and Dynamo (Batumi) took place on it. Our media has learned that the management of CSKA 1948 has requested that the match be rescheduled at this stadium. However, the hosts from Budučnost were firmly against it, and surprisingly, the people from UEFA also took their side.
Thus, the match is practically transferred from one level to another at the expense of a facility that is not only closer to the “Pod Goritzom” stadium, but also has a much better grass cover.
The suspicions are that Buduchnost is doing everything possible not to play the match on a normal pitch and thus to minimize the sporting and technical advantages of the opponent. But it is unclear why UEFA succumbs to provocations by the Montenegrins.
We remind you that the first clash in Sofia ended with the minimum 1:0 in favor of CSKA 1948 and today's rematch will be quite tense.
Here are pictures from the field where CSKA 1948 trained last night, but Buduchnost did not want to host it and UEFA respected his wish:
