Bozhidar Saraboyukov failed in the long jump qualification of the lightweight tournament athletics at the Paris Games by 4 centimeters. The 19-year-old Olympic debutant finished 14th in the standings at 7.87m, falling just 4cm short of a place in the final, for which the top 12 of the qualifiers qualified.
The youngster made two unsuccessful attempts, then in his last third he secured himself significantly and did not even step on the board (20 centimeters) to record a result. In the end, he got away with very little by moving on.
Saraboyukov has a personal best of 8.22 meters since August last year in Jerusalem, where he won a silver medal at the European Under-20 Championships.
Only two overcame the qualifying standard of 8.15 meters, with the best result of 8.32 meters in the qualifications achieved by the defending champion from Tokyo 2020, world and European champion Miltiadis Tentoglou (Greece), whose coach is the Bulgarian Georgi Pomashki.
