Uruguay's national team beat Colombia 3-2 with a last-minute goal in a qualifying match for the World Cup in South America and eased the pressure on coach Marcelo Bielsa, BTA reported.
Juan Fernando Quintero opened the scoring for the visitors in the 31st minute after a perfectly executed free kick from the left edge of the penalty area. The hosts equalized in the 57th minute after an own goal by Davinson Sanchez. Rodrigo Aguirre made it 2:1 after an hour of play.
The most dramatic moments of the match in Montevideo came in stoppage time. Andre Gomes equalized for Colombia in the 96th minute with a close-range shot, but Manuel Ugarte gave the hosts the win in the 11th minute of stoppage time with a shot from the edge of the box.
For Ugarte, it was the first goal for the national team. It secured the win, which puts Uruguay second in the standings with 19 points. Colombia also has 19 points but is third on goal difference, while Argentina remain leaders with 22 points despite losing 1-2 to Paraguay on Thursday.
In another match in Lima, Peru and Chile finished 0:0.
Los últimos 4 minutos del partido más tenso que vas a ver en tu vida. Técnicamente, es el último minuto, pero entre pedidos de revisón de VAR y discusiones con el árbitro.
