Todor Stoychev and Yoana Ilieva from the Svechnikov club became champions in the men's and women's sabre tournament for the Bulgarian Cup, BTA reports. In the men's competition, 28 sabre fencers from eight clubs participated.
The first place was won by Todor Stoychev, who came out of the groups with six wins, and in the eliminations he prevailed over four rivals and took the gold. The silver medal went to Simeon Dalekov from Svechnikov, and Stanimir Pelov and Dimitar Raikin, also from Svechnikov, finished in third place.
In the women's competition, the champion is Yoana Ilieva from the Svechnikov fencing club. In competition with 21 other competitors from four clubs, she recorded four wins in the groups, four wins in the eliminations and deservedly won first place.
Emma Neykova from Svechnikov came in second, and Beloslava Ivanova from CSKA and Olga Khramova from Svechnikov shared third place.
