Italian Marco Bedzecki (Aprilia Racing) won the main race of the British Grand Prix in the MotoGP class, the seventh round of the world motorcycle championship on the track, BTA reported.

Bedzecki triumphed in the chaotic race with a time of 38:16.037 minutes. He grabbed the first victory for Aprilia of the season in a race that was initially interrupted by a red flag due to an oil spill on the track, which caused some of the riders to crash, and then the start was restarted. Bedzecki's success was his first since the Indian Grand Prix in 2023, and the Italian also became the 11th different winner of “Silverstone“ in the last 11 races.

Yoan Zarco (France, CASTROL Honda LCR) finished second, 4.088 seconds behind the winner, while overall leader Marc Marquez (Spain, Ducati Lenovo Team) overtook Italian Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) to finish third (5.929 seconds behind) and extend his world championship lead to 196 points.

Marc Marquez and his brother Alex Marquez (Spain, BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) crashed while leading the pack before the race was restarted, while Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team) led the second start but later retired with a bike problem.

Alex Marquez, who triumphed in yesterday's sprint, is second in the overall standings with 172 points, and third for the moment is Francesco Banaia (Italy, Ducati Lenovo Team) with 124. Banaia, like Quartararo, did not finish today's race.

Australian Senna Agius (LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP) won the British Grand Prix in the Moto 2 class. The success was the first of the season and the first in the career of the 19-year-old Agius, who has a total of four podium finishes in this class.

He triumphed at “Silverstone“ in 35:26.390 minutes, leaving Diogo Moreira (Brazil, Italtrans Racing Team) behind, by 0.434 seconds. Third place went to Colombian David Alonso (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team), who was 0.498 seconds behind Agius.

The leader in the general classification remains Spaniard Manuel Gonzalez (LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP) with 111 points. However, he did not finish today's race after retiring early. Second place is fourth-place finisher in Great Britain Aaron Canet (Spain, Fantic Racing Lino Sonego), only 3 points behind Gonzalez, and third place in the standings is held by Briton Jake Dixon (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team), who finished ninth today and has 84 points.

The next, eighth round of the motorcycle championship on the track is in Spain for the Aragon Grand Prix between June 6 and 8.
