Six matches from the fourth round of the World Cup qualifiers in the European zone were played last night, sportal.bg reported.
We witnessed another great battle on the way to the upcoming World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico next year. Many goals were scored on the fields of the Old Continent and there were some dramatic endings.
The match between Italy and Moldova caught the attention, as this was Luciano Spalletti's last match at the helm of the "azurri" after the collapse against Norway (0:3) in the last round. This time the Italians did not allow for a surprise and took the victory with 2:0, although they again did not impress with their game.
Norway continued their impeccable performance so far, also defeating Estonia with 1:0 for their fourth consecutive victory.
The match of the evening, however, was between Belgium and Wales from group "J". The two teams created an incredible drama, in which the hosts snatched the victory in the end after 4:3 in their favor.
North Macedonia is also in this group. The neighbors achieved a very important victory with 1:0 in their visit to Kazakhstan and remain unbeaten after four matches played.
Croatia welcomed the Czech Republic in a clash from group “L”. "The Fire" continued their killer form and swept aside this opponent with a resounding 5:1.
In the last match of the evening, Faroe Islands defeated Gibraltar 2:1 in the clash of the underdogs in group "L"
