Volleyball national team player Tsvetelina Ilieva will continue her career in Germany. She will defend the Aachen team in the elite Bundesliga during the upcoming 2025/2026 campaign, reports "Aachener Zeitung", quoted by BTA.
The 23-year-old Bulgarian, who plays the position of receiver, has had a strong career in the US college championship for Binghamton University, and in her last three seasons she has been voted the best volleyball player in the Eastern Conference, winning numerous individual awards, and in the 2024 season she also finished as the leader in female scorers in the university championship with a record 535 points from attack.
At the beginning of the year, Ilieva returned to Europe and in the spring played for the Turkish Çakkale Belediyespor.
"I decided to accept Aachen's offer because I believe in the potential of the newly formed team. I am confident that with the coaching staff and the players in the squad, Aachen has everything it needs to achieve success. I am happy that I will have the opportunity to play at the highest European level. I can't wait to start our joint work and for the start of the new season, in which I hope to achieve our set goals", commented the Bulgarian.
