Aris (Thessaloniki) seems to be finalizing its latest transfer deal with the acquisition of Swedish-Gabon defender Noah Sonko Sundberg from Ludogorets (Razgrad) for 800,000 euros. The player is expected to arrive in Greece on Monday to join Marinos Ouzounidis' selection as soon as possible, reports the website bala24.gr, BTA reported.
Sundberg began his career at AIK Stockholm and continued at GIF Sundsvall and Östersund. From there, he moved to Levski (Sofia) in 2022 as a free agent.
The following year, he changed the Georgi Asparuhov Stadium with the champion Ludogorets, where he won the double from the 2023-2024 season. However, Sundberg failed to retain his starting spot with the Eagles.
Last year, he played on loan for Sivasspor in the Turkish Super League and performed quite well. In the Turkish Super League, he played 26 matches out of 36 possible, in which he scored two goals and assisted another. Interestingly, before moving to Turkey, Sundberg was again offered to Aris (Thessaloniki) in 2024 for a much higher amount, but the president of the yellow-blacks, Theodoros Karipidis, refused to pay.
But after a strong season and solid performance, now the Aris boss is tempted by the prospect of intervening in the battle for the title and the distribution of medals in the Greek Super League and has apparently decided to invest more in transfers, the Greek media also analyzes.
