Cherno More and Istanbul Basaksehir finished 0:1 in a match from the second preliminary round of the Conference League, reported sportal.bg.
The first situation came in the 4th minute, when Nuno Da Costa shot with a header. Fortunately for the home team, the striker sent the ball over Plamen Iliev's goal. 5 minutes later, Ivan Burnic intercepted an inaccurate pass from David Telesh and remained in a clear position in the penalty area. However, the guest player's shot was not accurate and the ball went out of bounds.
In the 12th minute, only Plamen Iliev's good intervention saved Cherno More from scoring. Yusuf Sarı brought Sahiner out on the wing, and he in turn crossed on the ground and found Onur Bulut around the penalty spot. The Istanbul defender shot from a clear position, but at the last moment Iliev showed reflexes and instinctively knocked it into a corner.
Over time, Cherno More improved its game and looked more and more boldly at the Turkish team's goal. In one of the situations, Nikolay Zlatev made a nice breakthrough, feinting two of Basaksehir's defenders, but his shot attempt was disappointing. In the 23rd minute, Panayotov shot from distance, but slipped and sent the ball high over the crossbar.
The next situation in the match was again on the guests' account. Bulut passed to Crespo, who from the arc of the penalty area shot on the ground, but straight into the hands of Iliev. Until the end of the half, there were no more interesting situations. Thus, Cherno More failed to record a precise shot in the first half, but did not allow a goal into their own goal.
The second half started in the most unpleasant way for Cherno More, after in the 52nd minute the score was opened in favor of the guests. Ivan Burnic crossed from the left, and in the penalty area Nuno Da Coste tried to play with his head, but unsuccessfully. In the end, the ball fell at the feet of Omer Ali Sahiner, who turned and made a not very strong kick on the ground. However, this turned out to be enough to overcome Plame Iliev - 0:1.
In the 67th minute, a moment of lack of concentration on the part of the Turkish team led to a good situation for Varna. After a cross, the ball reached Weslen, who was left uncovered. The winger shot twice, but both times he failed to make good contact with the ball.
8 minutes later, substitute Georgi Lazarov was brought out well alone against the goalkeeper, but the ball came a little awkwardly to him. The striker tried to pass the visitors' guard, but failed.
Cherno more became more active and in the following minutes organized several attacks that put pressure on the Başakşehir penalty area. However, a goal was never scored.
In the 89th minute, the clearest situation for Ilian Iliev's team came. Zhivko Atanasov shot dangerously from distance, but Mehmed Shengezer managed to knock it out with one hand with his last strength, and then the ball also deflected off the side post. Thus, Cherno More narrowly missed out on equalizing.
