After signing striker Victor Gokeres from Sporting Lisbon, Arsenal continues with its ambitious selection, Topsport reported.
Now the Londoners have turned their attention to Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs on July 31, positive talks have already been held between the two clubs, and Eze himself has expressed his desire to play for the "gunners".
The English giants are seeking to avoid paying the full release clause in the 27-year-old England international's contract, which amounts to 68 million pounds and expires on August 1. Crystal Palace, however, insist on an immediate payment of 35 million, with the remainder to be paid in installments.
For their part, Arsenal are considering a cash-plus-player swap. Among the names being discussed as part of a potential deal are Reece Nelson and Fabio Vieira.
Manager Mikel Arteta sees Eze as a key element in strengthening the attack. Last season, the Palace player distinguished himself with 14 goals and 11 assists, including the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Eze, who was part of Arsenal's academy in his early years, dreams of returning to the "Emirates" and play in the Champions League, British media claim.
To finance the deal, the "Gunners" intend to sell Reece Nelson (in advanced talks with Fulham) and may also part with Oleksandr Zinchenko. Leandro Trossar's stay at the club is also not guaranteed, as there is interest from Borussia Dortmund.
Chelsea have loaned defender Mamadou Sarr to Strasbourg for the upcoming Ligue 1 season, the French club announced on Friday. The France Under-20 international was sold by Strasbourg to the London team and will now continue to play on loan with the "blue and white".
Strasbourg is owned by a consortium led by American businessman Todd Boely, who bought Chelsea in 2022.
Sarr was a starter for the French team last campaign, playing 27 games. Strasbourg finished seventh in Ligue 1. The defender also had a brief spell at Olympique Lyonnais.
Mamadou Sarr's contract with the "blue" runs until the summer of 2033.
Chelsea won the Conference League last season and earned a place in the Champions League.
Strasbourg will play Metz in the first round of the new championship on August 17.
