Slavia's players and coaches opposed the "brutal and unrestrained way of protest" by the supporters who traveled to Plovdiv for the match against the local Lokomotiv. "The Whites" lost 1:2 in a match from the fifth round and remained with one point from the beginning of the season, BTA reported.
"We address those Slavia supporters who attended the match with Lokomotiv (Plovdiv) at the stadium in "Lauta" park, to state - We all categorically do not accept your brutal and unrestrained way of protest and dissatisfaction with the team's loss, expressed through vulgar attacks, insults and swearing, especially towards the club president, addressed by some of you and towards the head of the press service of PFC Slavia", write coaches and players in a letter to fans and media.
"We remind you that press officer Borislav Konstantinov does not participate in the selection of the players, has no relation to their training and does not give any instructions of a tactical or game nature. He is equally affected by the results as everyone else in the club and experiences them with the same anxiety and concern.
"His duties are to ensure public support for the actions and events of PFC Slavia, as well as to create conditions for media representatives to do their job.
"We insist on public apologies from your side to the president and the press attaché for the insult you have given to their authority in society, their personal honor and dignity. We appeal for the observance of correctness in our relations, for more tolerance and culture, characteristic of Slavia supporters in its 112-year history. Only through mutual respect and empathy could we get out of the unenviable situation we find ourselves in sooner".
