The French Football Federation has reached an agreement in principle with Zinedine Zidane to appoint him as head coach of the national team, reports El Nacional, BTA reported.
As previously stated, the 53-year-old specialist will replace Didier Deschamps at the “roosters“ after the 2026 World Cup. It is noted that during the break in his coaching career, Zidane rejected a number of offers from various clubs, as he was determined to work only in the French national team.
The last and only place of work in Zidane's coaching career was Real Madrid, which he led from 2016 to 2018 and from 2019 to 2021. During this time, he won the Champions League three times, the Spanish championship twice, the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
