The driver condition assessment system in the new Volvo EX90 electric SUV was included in the list of the 200 best inventions of 2024 according to TIME. Awarded in the Automotive category, this innovative technology is able to analyze the driver's condition in real time, determining his level of fatigue, distraction or signs of intoxication.
The system installed as standard in EX90 - car, about which we told you in detail some time ago, reacts to a violation of the driver's concentration with a signal and, if necessary, reminds to the driver about the importance of careful driving. In case of critical situations, for example, when the driver falls asleep behind the wheel, the car automatically stops and activates emergency signals, warning other road users.
Volvo CEO Jim Rowan said: "The EX90 is the most fuel-efficient Volvo has ever made. We are proud to be recognized by TIME as a leader in security.“
The development is based on more than 50 years of research into driver behavior in emergency situations, which allows the Volvo EX90 to provide an even higher level of maintenance and safety on the road. Thanks to regular over-the-air updates and real-time data collection, this model gets safer with every trip, gradually moving closer to Volvo's ambitious goal of zero accidents.
